What is it about Scrabble that makes it so addictive? Is it the simplicity of the game, the great design or just the fact that we all like to show off our wordpower?
For me, it's based all of these things. Some of the best Scrabble players I know aren't necessarily the best wordsmiths, they can just see the patterns in the board and know where to play their highest scored letters (or block you from getting that great triple word score!).
It's this combination of tactics and vocabulary that make Scrabble the best board game ever!
